Reflexology is a holistic healing treatment. Reflexologists work from maps of predefined pressure points that are located on the feet, hands and ears. These pressure points connect directly through the nervous system and affect the bodily organs and glands. The reflexologist manipulates the pressure points according to specific thumb and finger walking techniques of reflexology therapy. By means of this touching therapy, any part of the body that is the source of pain, illness, or potential debility can be strengthened through the application of pressure at the respective foot, hand or ear location.
“Your healing hands have done a wonderful job. Thank you, Nina.” ~ Betty, Chipping Sodbury UK ~
Reflexology promotes healing by stimulating the nerves in the body and encouraging the flow of blood. In the process, reflexology not only suppresses the sensation of pain, but relieves the source of the pain as well. Reflexology can also alleviate allergy symptoms, as well as stress, back pain, and chronic fatigue. The techniques of reflexology can be performed conveniently on the hand or ear in situations where a session on the feet is not practical.
“Loved the treatment! I felt soothed and more aware of where I’ve been holding tension. I asked for relaxation and found myself drifting off very soon into the therapy session. Thank you, Nina.” ~ Josie, Thornbury UK ~
The concept of Reflexology that Nina works with and as it is practised today is mainly accredited to individuals such as the American William H. Fitzgerald (1872-1942) an ear, nose and throat specialist and his fellow citizen Eunice D. Ingham Stopfel (1889-1974) a physiotherapist and author of “Stories the Feet Can Tell Thru Reflexology – Stories the Feet Have Told Through Reflexology”, her first book on reflexology published in 1938. She successfully refined William Fitzgerald’s work. Determined to help people to help themselves, she is regarded as a dedicated pioneer in today’s modern Reflexology. Her concept also known as “The Ingham Method of Reflexology” is well established and still enjoys lots of popularity today.
“A very relaxing and soothing treatment. It was very enjoyable to completely let go in the safe space that Nina creates.” ~ Mark, Bristol UK ~
